How it works

We have two ways to provide free UX and UI support. Ask for an answer to a burning question, or ask for help with a design problem.

U

Who can ask?

Anyone! We want to help anyone who is managing a website or online store and wants advice. Whether it's for yourself or your campany, if you’re in marketing, sales, operations or design, ask away!

U

What can I ask?

Ask us anything related to UX or UI—whether it’s about content, design, engagement, or technology. Whether you have a simple question, seek advice, direction or a recommendation, we're happy to share.

U

Is it really free?

Yes. This initiative is to share our knowledge and expertise. There are some conditions and we have limited capacity, but we want to help as many people as possible, with no strings attached.

Answer Me! Requests

Free advice, recommendations and answers.

If you have a burning question about your website or online store, and would like our UX or UI design perspective, send a request.

What you get

  • A useful and actionable response. It may be in the form of advice, directions, recommendations, introductions - whatever we can do within our role as senior, expert UX and UI designers.

What to provide

  • Explain your question as clearly as you can, with as much detail as you can, but keep it relevant and concise. Include a link to your website. You can include screenshots.

The Answer Me! process

  • Once you submit your request, you’ll be added to the waitlist.
  • If your request meets the conditions, you get a response by email within 24 hours.
  • If it falls outside the conditions you will receive an email to let you know.
  • We will generally respond to all requests in the order they are received.

Conditions

  • If a question can be answered with less than 10 minutes of work, we’ll respond within 24 hours. It’s usually much less, but sometimes we need a little time to get to your question.
  • We'll only answer one question or request per submission.
  • We can only respond with advice and guidance - if you need a design, send a Help Me! request.
  • Once our allocated weekly quota of time for Ask-A-UX-er requests is full, all requests will be waitlisted until the following week.
  • We may from time to time, share requests and responses in an anonymised format, on our Linkedin channel to help more people.

  • Up to 2 hours of our time to design a useful solution that is ready to use.

What to provide:

  • Explain your request as clearly as you can, with as much detail as you can, but keep it relevant and concise. Include a link to your website. You can include screenshots.

The Help Me! process:

  • Once you submit your request, you’ll be added to the waitlist.
  • When your request is next in line, you will receive a notification by email that your request has been accepted.
  • If your request falls outside the conditions you will receive an email to let you know.
  • We will generally respond to all requests in the order they are received.
  • Once accepted, we will aim to send your response within 5 working days.
  • We may contact you via email with additional questions. Your response will be paused until we receive a reply.

Conditions:

  • If a request can be solved within 2 hrs of work, we’ll respond within 5 working days. It’s usually less, but sometimes we need a little time to get to prepare the solution and response.
  • We'll only work on one specific problem per submission.
  • We can only respond with a Figma design file. We can not make website configuration or code updates, and will not log into any admins, website or platforms within our response.
  • Once our allocated weekly quota of time for Help Me requests is full, all requests will be waitlisted until the following week.
  • We may from time to time, share common requests and responses in an anonymised format, with any brand marks removed, on our Linkedin channel to help more people.
